Rutherford
Bordered on its east and west by two mountain ranges, the Rutherford AVA is defined by its cool mornings and warm days. Three alluvial fans create soils comprised primarily of gravel, sand, and loam. Sun-baked red topsoils, often referred to as Rutherford dust, help define wines from this region. This unique terroir lends itself perfectly to creating wines that are rich, yet exquisitely balanced.
