Grown in the warm glow of the western sun on a mountainside amphitheater along the rocky slopes of Atlas Peak, the fruit for this limited-production Pinot Noir puts a spotlight on the expressive and tension-filled nature of the Pommard clone. A powerful and vivid nose of wild strawberries, black tea, cola, dried lavender, savory herbs, crushed stones, and spiced currant leads into a voluptuous palate brimming with a medley of seductive red and blue fruits, blackberries, wet stone, clove, and spiced plums. Fruit-driven tannins carry through the entire mid-palate, culminating in a texturally sublime finish, all framed by a soft and energetic acidity.
