Grown on the elevated northern peaks of the Mayacamas Range, the fruit for this small-production wine grows above the fog line between 1,800 and 2,200 feet. A powerful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon in pure mountain form, deep aromatics of black currant, red plums, huckleberries, and crushed obsidian lead into a full-bodied palate of crimson fruits and mineral-laced tannins. The lengthy finish is framed by keen acidity and volcanic identity that can only come from fruit grown in the mountains. This balanced and formidable Cabernet Sauvignon offers a wonderful juxtaposition of muscular structure and composed elegance that can be enjoyed young and will evolve effortlessly with time in the cellar.
