Grown in a western-facing amphitheater rooted in Atlas Peak’s rugged terroir, the Pommard clone highlights the tension and energy that comes from fruit born with the elevated identity of the Vaca Mountains. Aromas of wild raspberries, black tea, crushed river stones, wild bay, and spiced cherries front a palate rich in red fruits, black currant, baking spice, truffles, cola, and wet earth. Fine-grained tannins evolve with time in the glass, while savory layers of crimson-laced acidity weave their way through the mid-palate to a plush and lengthy finish. An opulent yet restrained expression of Pinot Noir that exemplifies the purity and precision of the 2023 vintage.
