2022 Vintage

The 2022 vintage was one that presented optimism and challenges, reminiscent of vintages from decades ago that served as the inspirational standards for winemaking in Napa Valley. A consistent and promising spring and summer were met in the fall by some extensive heat spells, only to be immediately followed by precipitation, providing some much needed relief and cooler temperatures. Idyllic weather continued through October, giving the vineyards time to develop phenolically under more optimal conditions. The vintage produced wines full of expressive aromatics, dense color, wonderful texture, and luscious tannins, highlighting the unique characteristics of the individual varieties while also showcasing the symbiotic connection between viticulture and winemaking.
